Fire Call, 9th of May, House Fire, Plymouth

Currently we get little feed back from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below.

On the way back from the High Rise Exercise, Yelverton appliance was called to a house fire at Embankment Rd, Plymouth as part of a “make up make pumps 4”. On arrival Yelverton crew were asked to send two BA wearers into the house to check for fire spread on the floors above the fire floor. The house had been converted to flats, only one flat had been damaged by the fire although heat smoke and water damage had affected the other flats. Once it was confirmed the fire was out the building was out, Yelverton crew used our Positive Pressure Ventilation to clear the smoke.

I have included a photo.

  1. Hi to you all at Yelverton, could I ask why the command appliance from Totnes was sent to Glastonbury in Somerset a few weeks a go, is there not one closer or does that appliance cover the whole brigade area now? Thank you and keep up the good work.
    Take care Mark
