Fire Call, 21st of March, Fire in the open, Tor Royal Farm

Currently we get little feed back from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below.

At 12:28 on the 21st of March, appliances from Yelverton and Tavistock were called to a fire in the open at Tor Royal Farm, Princetown. On arrival the crew found a swaling fire that had got out of control on the open moor. We made pumps four and went to six before we finally brought the fire under control. Local farmers helped ferry crew on and off the moor and were crucial in eventually extinguishing the fire with the use of their quad bikes with fogging units on. We eventually got back to home station at 17:30, 5 hours of using a beater in full fire kit!!!
