Fire Exercise, 15th of July, High Rise Exercise, Civic Centre, Plymouth

Currently we get little feed back from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below.

On the 15th of July, Yelverton appliance was involved in a four pump high rise exercise at the Civic Centre, Plymouth. High rise incidents are particularly dangerous and difficult to train for. Greenbank Fire crew arranged a multi pump exercise with the city council at the Civic Centre and were good enough to invite us along. Yelverton crew took control of the bridgehead two floors below the fire floor and deployed firefighters and equipment from there. The exercise went well and not surprisingly, bearing in mind how seldom we get the opportunity to train in high rise,  a lot of learning points were discovered. That said the exercise went well and all the casualties were rescued. I’ve included some photos.
