Fire Call, 11th of October, Stand by at station 50 Greenbank and associated calls.

At 00:34 on the 11th of October Yelverton appliance was sent to station 48 Camels Head for stand by duties. No sooner had we arrived and we were redirected to Greenbank fire station. At 02:05 we were called to flooding at an address at Laira Road. On arrival we found a house that had been hit by a flash flood caused by the thunder storm that had just passed over. The water was already receding and was beneath the house threshold although it had penetrated the house at its peak. satisfied our assistance was no longer required we returned to Alexander Road where we had driven through a substantial flood on the was to Laira. We unblocked the drains and managed the traffic until the water had subsided. At 03:30 we returned to Greenbank to resume stand by duties. We finally closed home station at 05:28
