Drills, 16th of June, SHACS Exercise, Burrator.

Currently we get little feed back from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below.

At drills  on the 16th of June the crew from Yelverton took V58P1 and V58M1 to the waterfall at Burrator reservoire for a SHACS (Line Rescue) Exercise. The station is a level 1 station, Tavistock are Level 2 and Camels Head are level 3. Level one can only use lines as a safety measure, they cannot lift or lower except in an emergency. We practised setting the gear up and “life lining” a firefighter to a casualty played admirably by Oli. The exercise went well and we achieved the objective which at level 1 is to secure the casualty until the cavalry arrive. I’ve included some photos.
