  1. Good Evening Fred & all at Yelverton

Has the rank of watch manager replaced Station Officer and Crew Commander replaced the previous rank of Sub Officer? And what was the reason for the change?

Also do you still carry the ridged hose for pumping from lakes etc?

Thank you for your time in maintaining a most interesting blog.

All the best for 2014 be safe and take care

    • Hi Mark.
      Thanks for the letter.
Sorry I’ve taken so long answering.
Watch Manager replaces Station Officer/Sub Officer, Crew Commander replaces Leading Firefighter. And yes we do still carry rigid hose, we refer to it as hard suction and it is used for drawing water from an open source such as a lake or a river.

      Thanks
      Fred
