Drills, 29th of August, High Rise Lecture on station.

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At drills on the 29th of August, Yelverton crew were given a presentation by a Plympton trainer on the Risks, Hazards and Operational procedures for incidents in High Rise Buildings. Yelverton doesn’t have any high rise buildings but as we go stand by at Plymouth which has numerous high rise buildings it is an important lecture for us. The station has been at the Holiday Inn twice for fires, both incidents were treated as high rise. The ops procedures are quite specific mainly because the service tragically lost two fire fighters in Southampton in a high rise blaze.
