Fire Call, 17th of June, Recycling Centre, Tavistock

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At 08:00 on the 17th of June (Fathers Day) Yelverton appliance was called to support both Tavistock appliances at the Recycling Centre at Crowndale Rd. One of the Tavistock appliances was relaying water from the hydrant on the main road by the Crowndale turning and needed assistance with that. The Bowser from Plympton was also called to the incident and water relay was suspended once it had arrived. The fire in the recycling centre was in the large open-fronted shed amongst the rubbish at one end. As crews were unable to get at the fire  the OIC requested the owner of the site provide a driver for the digger, the driver  attended at around 10:00 and removed the contents of the shed. Fire crews dowsed the contents as the digger brought the rubbish out. I have included some photos.
