Fire Call, 28th of December, Car Fire, Roborough Down

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At 01:13 on the 28th of December, Yelverton appliance was called to a car fire on Roborough Down near Clearbrook. On arrival the crew found a car totally destroyed by fire that had nearly burnt out. Due to the position of the car the crew had to join both hose reels together to reach the vehicle which took more time than it did to put the fire out. No one was with the car so we can only assume it was arson. Unfortunately these car fires are an ecological nightmare, they litter the moor with sharps which injure wild life and the oil etc leeches into the ground and contaminates the water table.

If you have any information regarding this fire you can report it to the Police anonymously on either:-

Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111

or on line by following the following links:-
