Drills, 26th of September, ladder drills in the yard.

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At drills on the 26th of September, the crew practised rescuing casualties from height using the 135 ladder and SHAC’s (Rescue lines) equipment. This involves placing the casualty in a rescue harness and lowering the casualty to safety using lines and a small pulley wheel attached to the ladder. We also practised using the roof ladder and SHAC’s equipment to lock the ladder in place and created a safe system of work using a line with Alpine Butterfly knots. Dave Milburn remembered to take some photos.
