Drills, 22nd of August, Quarterly Pump tests at Walkhampton Brook

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At Drills on the 22nd of August, Yelverton crew took the appliance to Walkhampton Brook and tested the main and light portable pumps. This involves drawing from open water and testing the pumps ability to “prime” and maintain a “prime”. A prime is the pumps action to remove air from the pump to allow water to be drawn up the hard suction. If there is a hole in the suction or the pump has an air leak the pump will not be able to either prime the pump or maintain a prime. Both our pumps passed.
