RTC Exercise, 18th of May, Yelverton Aerodrome

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At 19:00 on the 18th of May, Yelverton appliance was joined by appliances from Tavistock and Crownhill at Yelverton aerodrome for a joint RTC exercise with the Ambulance Service. The exercise involved three vehicles, one on its side and two on all four wheels. Extrication involved the removal of one roof and a roof  “fold down”. An Ambulance arrived at the scene first closely followed by Yelverton appliance and, for a while all crews, fire service and Ambulance were involved in Casualty Care. Once further Ambulances and Fire appliances arrived the crews got down to casualty extrication and all the casualties were successfully rescued. These exercises are invaluable for both the Fire Service and the Ambulance Service giving both organisations an opportunity to liaise and see how they each work. I have included some photos, more in the gallery. My thanks to all involved for helping to make it work so well.
