Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At Drills on the 3rd of May, Yelverton crew were given a presentation on Casualty Care by Crew Manager Kevin Brown. As a full time Paramedic, Kevin’s knowledge and skills are invaluable to the crew, only a few retained stations are fortunate to have a paramedic as one of the crew. At RTC and rescues his knowledge of both services undoubtably improves the service and casualty handling we provide. During the course of the lecture he covered initial casualty survey and explained the importance of dealing with catastrophic bleeds before commencing the traditional ABC etc. He also explained the protocols for removing a casualty from a car urgently and commencing respiratory aid or full CPR when the casualty is no longer capable of supporting their own life.
