Fire Call, 15th of December, Cat stuck up a tree, Yelverton

Currently we get little feedback from people reading the blog. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments please use the facility below to contact us.

At 16:28 on the 15th of December, Yelverton appliance was called to a cat stuck up a tree at Yelverton. On arrival the crew found a 7 month old cat that had been stuck up a tree in a field for over 24 hours. The crew initially used ladders and safety at height equipment to attemp to bring the cat down, unfortunately, as FF Alex Newton approached the cat it moved higher up the tree. The crew then used a jet of water which eventually knocked the cat out of its perch and it ran down the tree at a rate of knots and disappeared into the gloom. Shortly after the owner received a phone call from home confirming the cat had arrived cold and wet but otherwise unharmed. I have included a photo

  1. Hi Fred
That was my cat, he arrived home soaked to the skin and as you say otherwise unhurt. Today he is back to normal and is resting after his adventure, many thanks to you all for your enthusiasm and your professionalism, you and your crew are all a credit to your service.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and New year

    With kind regards

    Graham and Family
