Fire Call, 12th of October, Car Fire, Yelverton Aerodrome.

At 21:28 on the 12th of October Yelverton appliance was called to a car fire at Yelverton aerodrome. On arrival the crew found a vehicle well alight with no sign of the driver or passengers. The crew used a high pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire. These fires cause a lot of damage to the environment as well as posing a serious hazard to the wild life and live stock on the moor. Oil and hydraulic fluid enters the ground water and glass and “sharps” have potential to harm.
